Research interests:
- Biophysics and structural biology
- solution and aligned sample solid-state NMR spectroscopy
- Structure and dynamics of biological macromolecules
- Molecular recognition in multi-component complexes
- Structure based drug design and membrane proteins
Research focus:
The lifecycle of the many pathogens is intimately associated with
membranes. Infections include recognition of the cellular envelope,
fusion with susceptible cells and often end with budding of new
infectious particles. The focus of my studies is to develop structural
pictures of integral membrane proteins involved in infections, resolve
their interactions and design drugs interfering with the pathogenic
process.
